Billie worked many years as Medical and Psychiatric Social Worker in Joliet and Chicago hospitals. She began sharing her experiences and teaching Graduate Social Work courses part-time, at the University of Illinois. while maintaining a practice in the community. She later joined the Social Work faculty at the University of St. Francis full-time and retired as Professor Emeritus after serving as Chair and Program Director of the BSW/MSW programs.
